TEAM KENYA Construction Team Leader

TEAM KENYA Team Nurse

When I called up my son-in-law, Spence Moorehead, and asked him if he would consider heading up TEAM KENYA'S building team as the Construction Team Leader, I only dreamed he would say 'yes', but he did!  I could not be more excited than to know that I will share this journey with not only Spence, but also my late husband's (Gary) daughter, Christa.  This is a joy that makes writing this team page even more special!
When Spence steps foot on African soil he will be following in his grandfather's footsteps, as his grandfather was a missionary and church planter in Africa! Grandfather must have planted something in addition to churches and the Gospel, he must have planted seeds in Spence's heart.
Of course, serving in ministry is nothing new in our family, as Gary was a pastor for almost 35 years prior to his passing on to heaven.
Spence is more than qualified to lead the construction work of TEAM KENYA with experience as a mason, a plumber, a builder, and various other construction related experience. Spence has the overall knowledge of how each part is an integral part of the whole. From drawing building plans to digging and pouring footers to leading the team in constructing the new building in Namanga, I know this young man will give it his all -- his best, bringing all of his qualifications to bear with heart and energy!
As with all of our TEAM KENYA members, Spence must raise his own support. But, not only must he raise his support, but that of his wife Christa and their daughter, Bianca.
Christa is a nurse and will serve as our team field nurse.  In addition, she brings a wealth of experience working with child development centers. She will be working with our Mission to Kenya's Kids and with the renovations at the Nairobi Children's Center, in addition to the team work being performed by the entire team at the Maasai location. I'm so blessed to share this time with my daughter, Christa.
Bianca.jpg Bianca, my grand-daughter, is fifteen years old and is getting her feet wet early in missions. She will work side-by-side with her mother, Christa and with her dad, Spence -- and with her Nana (me)! Bianca has a true mission heart to work with the children who will be hosted by the Mission to Kenya's Kids.
