GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

So You Want To Be "A Lydia"!

Great! Now What Are Some Ways To Give Of Your Time, Your Talents, Your Home and Your Resources?

Lydia Ministries International is a Non-Profit 501(3)(c) Organization. Your gift is tax deductible. Read below to see some of the creative ways that you can give to support the work of Lydia Ministries International and pastors all over the world! Thank you for giving!

Lydia Ministries is working to establish a network of resources for pastors and their families. If you have a resource that you would like to donate, we will be faithful stewards in getting it out to pastors and their families.

So many times we think about the usual things that people give, a financial gift, clothes, or food. Many people think that they don't have anything to give of value, and yet they very much want to give.

I encourage you to think outside the box! Perhaps you have a small business, a florist perhaps. Would you be willing to give an arrangement of flowers that Lydia Ministries could send to a pastor/family that needs to be encouraged?

Or, maybe you have a car that has been sitting in the garage for a few months. You don't need it, but you don't want to sell it. There are many pastors who can not afford to buy a car, or they can't afford a second automobile for their spouse.

Are you a caterer? Would you be willing to give a few good meals to a pastor/family when they need to be encouraged, or they need to be cared for?

We often assume that a pastor's church is taking care of the pastor, and this is as it should be, but it is not the case in many situations. When my husband died, the churches who served prepared one meal, the day before the funeral. I think that they had also sent a plate of coldcuts. I had family in from three or four states, and my house was full of people for a week. My daughters had to return from the funeral to prepare food for out of town guests, and I had to take care of many things that were specific to being the widow of a pastor. I'm not complaining. God is good. But, don't be fooled into thinking that churches everywhere are as nurturing and loving as they should be. Most are. Many are not.

We can't promise to match everyone who wants to donate something with every pastor. However, we do promise to do our best to be faithful. We are building a network of resources for pastors to be able to access from around the country.

In the Kingdom of God, there is always more than enough, if we are willing to share what we have. Jesus turned a few fish and a few loaves of bread into a great feast, with enough left overs to feed the disciples, all because a young boy was willing share what he had. He could have said, "I'm sorry, this is all I have. I have to keep it for myself. I have to be careful not to use it all up giving it away. I have to look out for myself. It's not enough to share, let someone who has more give what they have. What I have won't make a difference. It can't be more than a drop in the bucket of what is needed to feed this multitude!" But, he didn't say that. Instead, he gave his small lunch and it became a feast. And, because he was willing to give what he had to the King, he got to not only witness, but he got to participate in a mighty miraculous act of God that is still talked about today!

Do not say, "What I have is not enough to share." Do not say, "I have nothing to give." Give and let God work the miracle of making it "enough" and you will be blessed to get to not only observe the miracle of God's Kingdom, but you will be a participant in God's miraculous. You will be a participant in someone's prayers being answered! You will be a participant in someone's marriage being saved or restored! You will be a participant in someone's ministry being saved or refreshed! You will be a participant in someone's faith being restored, strengthened! And I say bless you to those who have given already and to those who continue to give.

Bless you to the ones who are giving of their time-share properties and their vacation homes. Bless you to those who are donating their flight plan miles and dividends!

Bless you to those who will give of their office space so that Lydia Ministries can grow to offer more services to pastors.

Bless you to Life Coaches who are willing to donate a few hours each month of their services!

Bless you to massage therapists who are willing to donate a few hours each months so that a pastor's spouse or a pastor can have a rare treat!

Bless you to mechanics and car detailers who are willing to donate your services to help provide reliable transportation for pastors!

Bless you to landscape companies who are willing to donate a few hours each month to pastors so that they can spend their time ministering, rather than mowing the lawn!

Bless you to those who are willing to give of themselves and their time and their resources, who have the heart of Lydia!

Following are some additional ways in which you can give to Lydia Ministries. Some of them have been briefly mentioned above. If you have any questions please contact us.

Guest Housing:

For pastors and their spouses to have a one-week get-away. You might consider giving your house for one week each year while you are on vacation or on a scheduled business trip.

Do you have a seasonal home that you use only part of the year. Perhaps it sits empty for several weeks or months each year! You can donate the use of it to Lydia Ministries for a pastor and spouse to get away for a brief respite, and you may be able to count it as a tax deduction!

Do you have a time-share that you don't use, or aren't going to use this year? Would you give that time for a pastor and spouse?

Do you have frequent flyer miles that you could give? Many people take a rare trip by air, and those frequent flyer miles go unused. You can donate them... another tax deduction! We can use those miles in many different ways! From offering travel to a pastor or spouse who might not in any other way be able to attend a retreat, to using them to get us to necessary meetings.

Home Organizers: A fancy word for a "house cleaner"! Would you donate a few hours each month to giving a pastor's wife (or a single pastor) a break by cleaning house for them? Contact us and we will pair you up with a pastor/spouse who needs your service! another possible deduction...

Are you a great "road-warrior"? Would you be willing to donate some time running errands for a local pastor/spouse one afternoon a week, a month, or just for one time? Contact us and we will pair you up with a pastor/spouse in need.

Are you an auto mechanic? A car detailer? A landscaper? A Lawn Maintenance specialist? Would you give a few hours a month? a week? one time?

Everyone has something to give, something to offer in God's Economy! Lydia Ministries needs passionate Team Members! The simple truth is, we need YOU!

Are you a financial advisor who would be willing to offer services to Lydia Ministries for pastors who are struggling financially? Are you a Life Coach who could offer service to pastors/spouses to help them capture/recapture their passion for ministry/Life/marriage/God?

There are many ways to give! Thank you for giving!
